Dave Carson
Electric
Guitar – Dave’s Early Musical Career
During
the 1980s Dave secured a recording contract at Britannia Row (Pink Floyd
Studios). He recorded tracks for a solo project collaborating with Lol
Tollhurst from The Cure. He then joined La Strada, based in Antwerp, and
toured with Simple Minds, Killing Joke and The Sound. La Strada played
dates in London with members of Tom Robinson’s band and The Selector.
Acoustic Guitar
In
1998 Dave worked with Hugh Budden from The Producers in the blues duo
Jookin’. In 1999 he formed Sugar Mama UK featuring Kyoko Monk (guitar),
Bob Hibbit (drums and harmonica) and Dave Carson (guitar, slide guitar
and vocals). They toured extensively home and abroad playing a variety
of venues including arts centres, theatres, festivals and pubs and working
and recording with many major artists including Richard Hunter (American
harmonica virtuoso) and Harry Skinner and Dave Saunders of The Producers.
Dave has recently completed recording an acoustic jazz latino album.
