Dave Carson

Electric Guitar – Dave’s Early Musical Career

During the 1980s Dave secured a recording contract at Britannia Row (Pink Floyd Studios). He recorded tracks for a solo project collaborating with Lol Tollhurst from The Cure. He then joined La Strada, based in Antwerp, and toured with Simple Minds, Killing Joke and The Sound. La Strada played dates in London with members of Tom Robinson’s band and The Selector.

Acoustic Guitar

In 1998 Dave worked with Hugh Budden from The Producers in the blues duo Jookin’. In 1999 he formed Sugar Mama UK featuring Kyoko Monk (guitar), Bob Hibbit (drums and harmonica) and Dave Carson (guitar, slide guitar and vocals). They toured extensively home and abroad playing a variety of venues including arts centres, theatres, festivals and pubs and working and recording with many major artists including Richard Hunter (American harmonica virtuoso) and Harry Skinner and Dave Saunders of The Producers. Dave has recently completed recording an acoustic jazz latino album.
